Her Voice Will Be Heard : The United States Vs. Billie Holiday (Hulu)

This illustration was created to help bring in the premiere of the Hulu Original Film, The United States Vs. Billie Holiday. I was commissioned to use the film as inspiration and portray Andra Day as Billie Holiday.

After watching the trailer of the movie, listening to both singers perform “Strange Fruit”, and doing my own research, I truly saw how much Billie Holiday inspired people to speak their own voice with confidence. She risked it all to create a movement towards justice and I wanted to highlight that moment in this piece.
